Meet the Board

Bradley L. Griffie “Brad”
Employer: Griffie & Associates, P.C.
Position: Owner/ President
My wife, Julie and I live in outside of Carlisle, and our 4 adult sons live in San Francisco; Frederick, Maryland; Ashburn, Virginia; and Emmitsburg, Maryland. We also have 2 granddaughters. My mother lives in Carlisle, as well, and my mother-in-law lives in Chambersburg. I have been practicing law in South central Pennsylvania for 42 years and Julie has been working for Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, Inc. (Martin’s Potato Rolls and Bread) where she is the Human Resource Director for over 35 years. I volunteered at CARES at the front desk starting about 9 years ago and became committed to the CARES mission. When there was a new Board of Directors established, I was asked to serve on the Board and to be President of the Board, which I agreed to accept. I have now been serving as the Board President for the past 7 years. I believe 100% in the CARES Mission statement and hope to see the day when we no longer need to address the scourge of homelessness.

Tom Drexler
I began helping with Community Cares as a member of their golf tournament committee two years ago. I have helped with other non-profit organizations over the years and always felt like I was more part of a social organization rather than helping the community. After learning more about Cares, I became a board member recently because I can see the impact Cares has on the local community. I want to help effect change, not just take up a seat to socialize.
Carley Miller
Place of Employment: Orrstown Bank
Title: AVP, Mortgage Originator
Family Make up: Married to my wonderful husband for 10 years with 2 boys
Reason for joining: I got to know CARES because of Leadership Cumberland. The mission of CARES is so important for our community and I love being a part of sharing the mission through the development team.
Heather K Knisely
Place of Employment: Orrstown Bank
Title: Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer
My husband and I have been married for 23 years and we have a 19 year old daughter
named Emma and a yellow lab named Scarlet. My goal is to provide support to Beth and the CARES staff from an HR and Learning and Development perspective. I am partnering with Beth to create a strong HR foundation and a structure to the learning and development opportunities that are available to the staff, so they have all of the
tools necessary to do their job to the best of their ability; and in turn provide a good experience for all of the
clients that they interact with.

Charles Stoup
Retired Oral Surgeon. I have long been interested in activities and organizations that serve our community. Few organizations fit that need as does Community Cares.
