Get Involved

Thanks! Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch!

Community CARES depends on volunteers like you to staff our shelters, our resource center and assist in various functions and events.
Your commitment to help the homeless in Cumberland County will ensure that all people in our community have a safe, warm place to stay when they need it.

Check In Volunteer

Bus Driver

Will help us take residents on weekly runs to grocery stores, pharmacies and appointments.
In house certification required.
As a check in volunteer, you will help get the residents signed in nightly at the shelter.

Event Planning

As a member of an event planning committee, you would help brainstorm and plan for our fundraising events. We love new ideas and input from the community!

Professional Volunteer

Are you an expert at something? If so we could use your help! A professional volunteer is someone who volunteers their time and talents to help CARES accomplish a goal. It might be helping fix a broken cabinet or it could be providing your expertise to the finance committee, the possibilities are endless! In addition, you may also help check in the residents at the overnight shelter.

Overnight Shelter

As an overnight volunteer, you will stay overnight at the church with the guests.
Training is provided.

Resource Center

A resource center volunteer assists in performing general office duties, including answering the phones, signing residents in and out, etc.. Volunteers will also assist the residents as needed.
Training is provided.
